Tony Peter aka TBone – SUP Surfer

How long have you been paddleboarding and how did you get into SUP?

Paddlebaording for over 6 years and surfing since I could walk.    I was a regular competitor on the surf scene and longboarding in particular but found sup surfing.  Tried it a few times and then in I was hooked.

What is your favoured discipline and why?

Without a doubt I surf.   I live down in Shoreham so am a regular at some of our local spots and am always out when there’s a swell or wind blowing in some big waves.

What kit do you currently ride?

I ride the Jimmy Lewis Worldwide 8’1.   I’ve ridden a lot of boards but this one suits my style.  Short, fast , slashy and tough.

Cost is the big thing and if it was no question I’d ride the Black and Blue Machine as that is a true nose rider longboard.  I think what I will do next year is go for the Hanalei as it is a bit less specialized than the Black and Blue but still a serious longboard surf sup.

Do you have any goals for 2016?

I’d love to compete in all three rounds of the SUP surf championships, get down to the Cribbar and just enjoy a load more great days in the water.
