Our boards are stable and easy to balance on, making them perfect for beginners. We also provide wetsuits and rash guards to keep you comfortable and protected while on the water.

The boards we use are Aqua Marina Fusion, which is a very capable inflatable paddle board. At 10’10 long and 32 wide, it provides a good level of stability and buoyancy to make it easy to begin your paddleboarding.  We also sell the boards and whilst they’re not as cheap as the budget kit you can find, we stand behind, how good they are.

Our Location

Surfs SUP Water Sports is located in Bracklesham, West Sussex. This whole area including Chichester Canal, Bracklesham, Itchenor, Pagham, Selsey, West Wittering, East Wittering and Chichester Harbour, offers some of the best paddle boarding conditions in the country. With variable conditions and beautiful scenery, we are set in a  perfect place to learn to paddle board and progress with our paddle board tuition.

At Surfs SUP Water Sports, safety is our top priority. We follow strict safety standards and protocols to ensure that our customers are always safe while on the water. Our instructors will provide you with detailed safety instructions before you begin your lesson, and we provide personal flotation devices to students.

The different venues and locations for our lessons offer up different challenges, and they’ve all been risk assessed to make sure we’re clear on the risks and safety measures put in place to cope with them.

Chichester Canal: this is a perfect place for our total beginners and is a non moving water, max 6ft deep and other than the canal boat, has very little risk associated to it, whereas our open water paddle lessons off the beach front, encounter tides, wind, current and waves.

Is Paddle boarding difficult?

Paddleboarding can be challenging for beginners, but with practice, it can become easier. The difficulty level can depend on several factors, such as the size and weight of the person, the weather conditions, and your level of experience and fitness, but with the correct guidance we can certainly improve your exeperience.

Initially, you may find it challenging to balance on the board, especially if you’re new to the activity. However, with time, you will learn to maintain your balance and feel more comfortable on the water. It’s essential to start on calm waters and wear a personal flotation device (PFD) for safety.

Paddle boarding also requires upper body strength and core stability to propel the board forward using the paddle. With regular practice, you can improve your technique and endurance, making the activity more comfortable, whilst getting fitter and improving all over body tone as you will regularly be using the entire body and micro-muscles.

In summary, paddle board can be challenging for beginners, but with practice and patience, it can become more comfortable and enjoyable, and this is why we suggest having paddle boarding tuition to begin your journey.
