Beaches in West Sussex
West Wittering
Sand between the toes is the real attraction here. West Wittering is a stunning beach on a private estate. You’ll have to book in advance to park during the summer and it gets super busy, but once you’re there you have huge amounts of space to enjoy.
From a safety point of view, be careful of super strong currents move in and out of the harbour so be aware.
East Wittering
Bracklesham Bay
This is my home spot and a beach very close to my heart for many reasons. We’ve got cafes, sand at low tide, no current compared to West Wittering and mostly flat water during the summer.
Our watersports lessons use Bracklesham, when the sea state allows and the wind isn’t blowing. Car parking is right up against the beach itself and there are public toilets on site.
East Head
Using the same car park, you have access to East Head, which is another amazing nature spot, with sandy beaches, sand dunes, wildlife and fun for watersports. The view across the beach leads you to Hayling Island or out to the Isle of Wight, looking over the Solent.

The Witterings is a watersports heaven, with conditions ranging from easy flat water to waves and wind. At Surfs SUP Watersports, we offer paddleboarding, windsurfing, wing foiling and sup surfing, whilst our friends at Fluid offer kayaking.
Our own instructors are all local and know the area really well, so we absolutely guarantee the best lessons and coaching sessions.
