wing sup
lessons

Why not try the new sport of Winging. We'll get you dialled and sailing around, ready to foil down the line.

What courses do we offer

We’ve put together a collection of wing sup lessons  that will give you a solid understanding of board and wing control.

It’s a must for anyone considering foiling in the future, especially if you have no windsurfing or kiting experience.

The  taster session gives you the fundamentals in safe, non planing conditions allowing you the chance to learn about wind and handling.

If you have never experienced wind water sports, then this course is really important to give you the best chance of progressing to foiling sooner than later.

We use isups and our learner windsurf boards for these courses as they offer great stability, upwind ability and a likeness to the foil boards you may progress to later.

During your private session we use the BBTalkin intercom to chat with you as the wind can make it difficult to shout instructions once on the water.

Many of you will have seen people foiling with wings or even on windsurf and kiteboards. It has opened up a whole new experience to paddleboarders, given a new opening to guys who windsurf in strong winds and simplified life for kiters.

If Stand up paddleboarding is your thing, the wing surfing or wing sup is a must as you can add on a light wind sail or even surf some waves if a sea breeze kicks in, or you get some wind on your local lake.

We use the latest wings and boards to make everything that much easier, whilst using radio helmets to make communication with the trainees much more instant.

Our Wing School is based in Bracklesham, with our mobile facility working in Chichester Harbour, Poole, Pagham, East Wittering and  Hayling Island.

So when can I begin foiling

Foiling is a totally new dimension to managing the wind, so we recommend that anyone giving the Wing a go, puts some practice in first before trying out the foil.

In some situations, we may bring the foil into our sessions, so a client can get used to riding a board with foil attached without actually getting flight.

This way you can experience the flat water handling characteristics of the board whilst getting used to managing the board and wing both out of the water and in the water.

SUP Foiling is great fun, but there are many layers to it and a few hours won’t see you mastering it by any means, so be ready to put in some practice over the following months.

We’d recommend buying a wing of about 4-5mtrs in size.   Then head out on your sup and keep practicing those moves, in stronger winds.

If you have an isup that doesn’t have a centre fin, you’ll find it is impossible to maintain an upwind position, so you may need to buy some drift stopper fins to help.

That said, if you’re on a hard board, the rails can really help so good technique comes into play.

Try to go out when it is a bit windier, 10-14knots as the more power you have the more the wing flies itself, less arm ache and the more drive upwind you have, so again it really helps.
