Key design features
The Lava blade is designed to correct poor alignment often associated with fatigue and injury. The Scooped Dihedral shaping holds the water securely through the power phase, eliminating lateral blade movement and delivering force in a smooth and efficient manner.
The extension of the tapered scoop towards the toe allows the paddle to remain stable and deliver power, even if you fail to get the full blade in the water. This toe shaping also ensures a clean catch and efficient blade release.
Overall, the Lava blade design delivers a predictable and efficient paddle stroke which encourages the use of smaller blades while protecting your body from injury and reducing fatigue.

Who is the Black Project Lava aimed at?
The Black Project Lava is a great all round paddle, that we’ve used for everything from flat water social paddles, to sup surfing and some local race paddling.
The Lava paddles come in either a fixed length option, 2 piece adjustable, or 3 piece travel paddle. The 1 piece paddle is the lightest and 3 piece is a bit heavier, whilst the 2 piece is a perfect balance of weight to convenience, for someone wanting a paddle that can go from surf sup to race board combo.
