Jimmy Lewis Maestra sup surf and all rounder board I love a board that does everything and this one fits the bill. Surf, cruise and tons of fun. Stable, but agile and good looking.

A surf sup, fun sup, family sup and big guys sup all in one – the Jimmy Lewis Maestra

The Jimmy Lewis Maestra was a really big surprise when Jimmy announced it.  We had been looking for a really capable surf sup that gave more stability to a bigger paddler but that wasn’t all it gave when we took it out for a paddle.

First thing we noticed was how loose it felt for a board that is 33 wide and stable. Usually at that sort of width there is a definite push needed from the rider to go rail to rail. The Jimmy Lewis Maestra doesn’t take so much effort due to the slight v underside in the tail.

JImmy Lewis Maestra UKAt 9’9 it has a good length to allow for a smooth paddle out and about even on flat water cruises without meaning you have to keep switching sides with the paddle every couple of strokes, so again this gives the board another use in the family category.

The rocker is very smooth so again it delivers a nice glide into waves and once up and running is easy to turn from the tail or mid ship. For bigger guys it is definitely a capable surf sup but if you are under 14.5 stone you may want to look more at the Jimmy Lewis Stun Gun or Jimmy Lewis Kwad range as you could possibly get away with lesser volume if your skills are up to it.

The real killer point on this board for real sup surfing is the full length deckpad. Too many people disregard old school surfing skills and simply slash a few turns.    If you’ve ever watched some old 60s videos of surfers walking the board and hanging toes then you’ll see how much fun you can make a 1ft wave with a little imagination.

We have this board in our demo fleet as we are absolutely confident it can deliver more than the competition for the bigger surfers out there. Get in touch for a tryout now.

Forgot to say that SUP Yoga is another possibility on this board with plenty of width and volume.
