The construction is exceptional and delivers a seriously stiff board, which is what you need to get the best out of an isup.

A multi layered construction, with Space Yarn inside that helps to reinforce the rigidity of the board and a superb attention to detail backed by Jobes long warranty.

In my own time on this board, I have paddled a lot of open water adventures, never finding the board awkward  in rougher conditions, when poorly built boards start to suffer.

Weight matters but how much

The Jobe Duna uses Heat Bonding Technology and this makes a huge difference to the board weight and ultimate performance and handling.

Jobe designed their own Aero SUP technology, using the very latest materials and Space Yarn to bring the board down in weight whilst maintaining rigidity, but let’s clear something up right now.

A super light board can become very twitch in choppier waters, so there is a point at which a bit of weight is useful for touring and general use.

When you’re paddling in chop and catching a few bumps, you don’t want the board to start squirreling around underfoot – it needs to feel planted and controllable, which is why a bit of weight is needed to hold it down.

Performance when it counts

The Duna is much like an eBike, delivering those little boost when you need it and then settling back into relax mode when you fancy a chill.

At 11′ and 31 wide, it is so easy to paddle, but it is not cumbersome.  That bit of width is so useful if you’re heading out on a picnic paddle or joining us for on our guided sup tours.

The big difference in how the width works on this board, is you’re not pushing so much water, as the board is so stiff, and that means you can achieve a higher average speed ad go that much further.

If you’re looking to upgrade and want something that ill cope really well in open water, harbours, rivers, adventure paddling etc, then the Jobe Duna is a serious contender and a board we would personally choose over most others.

You’re welcome to try one with us on one of our paddleboarding lessons or paddle clinics, and see exactly what we’re talking about.
